A ‘home-grown’ Flint Bishop Solicitor, Emma trained with Flint Bishop and then qualified into the employment department, where her enjoyment and passion lay.

Emma has quickly developed a personal client following and has been recognised for this by being mentioned in the UK’s leading legal directory, The Legal 500.  This is taken from direct client feedback, which confirmed that Emma is “popular with clients”.

Emma’s client base consists of a wide range of different businesses from the banking sector, industry, charities, local government departments and SMEs.

She prefers non-contentious work, in particular, helping companies with, and providing advice on, their day to day employment law and HR matters. This includes drafting contracts of employment, policies and procedures and advising on restructures, redundancies, other forms of dismissal and TUPE.

Friendly and with an aptitude for thinking outside the box, she enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and working closely with them to meet their own individual commercial goals, within the constraints of the law.

In her spare time, Emma competes her horse Dolly to a national level, participating in the thrilling and exciting sport of eventing.  As an active and lively person, she also enjoys running and socialising with friends.

What do Emma's clients say about her...

“An internal review of the company’s  HR management systems conducted two years ago by the senior management team highlighted some areas of weakness within its HR documentation which included employment contracts, staff handbooks, general operational templates and HR procedures. The review also highlighted weaknesses in the general level of support being provided at that time by its previous external HR support provider.

Following an assessment of several HR support solutions and providers, Mirage chose to engage Flint Bishop in providing employment law and HR support; the principal criteria applied during the selection process being accessibility, both in terms of location and during times of need, quality of service, value for money, demonstration of expertise and approachability.

On the appointment of Flint Bishop, a plan was compiled to ensure that our company could promptly address its areas of weakness and attain a fully compliant HR capability. The plan was executed with the full and enthusiastic support of Flint Bishop.

Now within our third year of support, there has been some interesting and testing issues to deal with during that time span, however, addressing these matters has been made easier and executed promptly through the first class support delivered by Flint Bishop and in particular our principal point of contact, Emma Cooper, who has always given our requirements the fullest attention even when matters need to be addressed at very short notice. “
